Ball State Yearbook Collection Now Available Online

The Ball State University Orient Yearbooks digital collection is now available in the Digital Media Repository. This collection provides online full-text searchable access to editions of The Orient, the now-defunct yearbook produced by Ball State students. At present, this digital collection features editions of the yearbook dating from 1919 to 1965.
The Orient provides photographic and textual documentation of student life and campus events from Ball State's history, including pages dedicated to student organizations and academic departments. The Orient also documents sporting events, artistic performances, prominent social events and traditions, and significant campus visits.
Like The Easterner, the earliest predecessor to The Ball State Daily News, the yearbook’s name was derived from the fact that the institution was named the Indiana State Normal School, Eastern Division at the time of the inception of The Orient.
The Orient ceased publication after 78 volumes with its final edition in 1996. A complete collection of the yearbooks in print is open for use at Ball State University Archives and Special Collections.
Below is a selection of images that can be found in various Orient yearbooks.
